Château Soussac Cookery Courses:
Learn to Cook the French Way – Effortlessly
French chef Stephan Ivansich trained at the famous Lycee Hotelier de Talence and worked in leading restaurants in the Dordogne and Bordeaux. Stephen grew up near Soussac and his passion for fine produce and superb cuisine started at an early age when his grandmother and mother taught him the great traditions of classic French cuisine.
I n 1990 Stephan opened Le Café du Midi, the charming and highly rated small restaurant in Soussac village. Stephan, who speaks good English, is conducting cookery courses for guests at Chateau Soussac.
Guests will learn how to make stunning starters; delicious but deceptively simple main courses, and divine desserts, all prepared with chic French special little extras to make them even more mouthwatering and delicious. Guests will also learn which wines to serve with the dishes.
O n Tuesday morning Stephan will take guests to the local food market (there’s one in a different village every day of the week) and in the afternoon demonstrate how to create the produce purchased in the market into an utterly French gastronomic ‘happening’. Wednesday morning will feature a trip to a wine chateau and wine tasting and Wednesday afternoon the cookery demonstration will be all about cooking with wine. On Thursday morning guests will learn how to create sumptuous summer food and on Thursday afternoon Stephan will teach guests how to make delicious French desserts.
The courses are designed to improve everyone's cooking skills at all levels and to increase their recipe repertoire. The informal atmosphere of Stephan's classes ensures everyone enjoys themselves while they learn.
E ach evening Stephan will prepare a delicious five course dinner for guests to enjoy at Chateau Soussac.
Total cost for four nights accommodation, 4 dinners, 3 light lunches, cookery course, visits to food market and wine chateau is €750 per person sharing.
